Stephen Colbert talks about his work at the DNC

A good Stephen Colbert interview appears in the latest issue
of Entertainment Weekly. Check it out here on Jerriblank.com.

Team America - World Police

That's what I'm talkin' about! The makers of the recent Thunderbirds live-action movie probably made a smart financial decision by modeling their movie after the successful Spy Kids franchise, but as a fan of the "real" (ie, fake) Thunderbirds of the 60's, presented in Gerry Anderson's awesome SuperMarionation, it was a major dissapointment for fans of the old-school Thunderbirds show.

Fret no more, fans. The Southpark boys have taken up the banner of animated puppetry in their upcoming new movie, Team America - World Police.

Where's the money, Lebowski?

With those dweebs at Amazon, after I ordered these.

Hey, the girl's gotta make a livin'

Spotted on a pop up ad - Piper, from Joe Schmo Two. Ain't it?

Ok. So my world is very small. What can I say?

I've seen most of these movies. That's sad, isn't it?

Random quotes from Strangers With Candy

Jellineck: "I was a complete zero, Jerri."
Jerri: "And now?"
Jellineck: "Well, now you could multiply that zero by hundreds."
Jerri: "Wow! That must be a lot."

Dr. Zorters: "Jerri, you're not hearing what I'm saying."
Jerri: "Oh, that's OK Doc, 'cause you're not saying what I'm hearing."

Principal Blackman: "I'm an obtuse man, so I'll try to be oblique."

What makes a man, Lebowski?

This one is for all of the Little Lebowski Achievers out there.
I recenly found that Episode 26A of the Powderpuff Girls, titled
"SOMETHING'S A MS", contains a scene-for-scene homage to the
Millionaire Lebowski "in seclusion" sequence, including dialog.
Lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta threads for the PowerPuff Girls to keep together...

Oh Joy.

Deceiver (1997)

I watched a friend's copy of Deceiver the other night. It was entertaining, but I could have used more time to follow some of the twists near the end. It left me with a feeling of dissatisfaction because of that. It was slow paced in the extreme early on, but well done, so I didn't mind it. However, about 7/8ths of the way in the script writer suddenly thought "Oh shit, I gotta swing this bus around quick or we ain't making the turn!" Combine the sudden turns at the end with the fairly hint-free earlier portions, and you can't go back and see where you could have picked up on the twists, had you only known. Part of the fun is go back and review the things that slipped by on your first viewing, which you can do with The Sixth Sense, for instance. It could have been something that the filmmakers chose not to do, but I suspect it's that way simply due to poor editing.
